The volatile complex of lead(II) with 2,2,6,6-tetramethylheptane-3,5-d
ione is investigated by X-ray diffractometry. Crystal data: a = 10.901
(2), b = 22.489(4), c = 10.203(2) Angstrom, space group Pccn (N56), V
= 2503.4(8) Angstrom(3), M = 573.74, Z = 4, d(calc) = 2.522 g/cm(3). t
he crystal structure is of molecular type; the molecule of the complex
has a nonplanar structure. the lead atom is coordinated by four oxyge
n atoms of the two bidentate ligands. films of the complex on substrat
es of Si and SiO2 single crystals, melted quarts, and glass were obtai
ned by thermal evaporation in vacuum. X-Ray diffraction analysis of th
e polycrystals and films of the complex showed that the films are dist
inctly textured along the b axis.
