The efficiency of oxygen removal with a deaeration chamber (DC) and di
rect cell deaeration (DCD) in a continuous flow-through anodic strippi
ng voltammetric system is evaluated. The limitations as well as advant
ages of each procedure are studied. The DCD method results in higher s
ensitivity within the shortest analysis time, DC sensitivity can be im
proved by increasing both deaeration time and deposition time. The mai
n disadvantage of DC is that it is more time consuming compared to DCD
, but the time can be reduced by using smaller volumes.
