V. Piangerelli et al., DETERMINATION OF AROMATIC-AMINES AND PHENOLS IN ENVIRONMENTAL-SAMPLESBY SELECTIVE SPE ELUTION AND HPLC WITH AMPEROMETRIC DETECTION, Annali di chimica, 87(9-10), 1997, pp. 571-582
The use of eluting solution having different pH and ionic strength tha
t allow the selective solid phase extraction (SPE) of phenols and arom
atic amines with both anionic and cationic characteristics in environm
ental water samples is described. Phenols and aromatic amines have bee
n determined by liquid chromatography coupled with amperometric detect
ion. Elution steps and different recoveries of both classes of the com
pounds considered in environmental samples are discussed. Different re
coveries of phenols and aromatic amines in environmental samples, and
detection limits are also discussed. Detection limits for considered c
ompounds after SPE pre-treatment ranged from 15 ng/L to 440 ng/L.
