Abstract
A coupled system of Maliuzhinets' functional equations for a pair of u nknown functions is studied. It is shown that the system can be solved in an explicit form for a specific but non-trivial class of its matri x coefficients. Two examples arising in electromagnetic diffraction th eory in a wedge-shaped region are briefly discussed.
