Two electrochemical methods are suggested in order to control the surf
ace reactivity of metallic powder particles with regard to the followi
ng electrolytic plating. It is the determination of both the open circ
uit potential and anodic dissolution current of a specially constructe
d carbon paste electrode containing the investigated powder particles.
Iron powder of different granulometric classes activated by grinding,
annealing, and chemical reduction was used to prove the suitability o
f the chosen methods. It was found that both experimental parameters r
eflect the state of the surface.
