Abstract
Plasma membranes separated and purified from rat cerebral cortex and c erebellum showed varying protein profiles on SDS-PAGE scanning densito metry. Using highly sensitive two-dimensional gel electrophoresis thes e proteins were further resolved and an apparent regional heterogeneit y of plasma membrane associated. proteins was demonstrated. These prot eins might be involved in region specific structural and functional as pects in the brain.
