ONLINE PROTECTION PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS USING INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS

The increasing requirement to ensure power system disturbances are iso lated quickly and correctly, coupled with the technological advances i n the field of telecommunications and data capture, have led to a cons iderable increase in the data available from the power system. Unfortu nately, during emergency conditions when such data is most valuable, t he volume of data available can lead to important events being overloo ked. This paper reports on a decision support system (DSS), consisting of three intelligent systems, which aid protection engineers in their post-fault analysis by summarising the captured data.
