Abstract
A new reliability model has been developed for the CLUSTER satellite s ystem of the European Space Agency. This model incorporates event depe ndent (non-constant) failure rates and dependencies together with a ut ility function measuring the achievements of the mission up to a given point in time. This model, unlike the standard reliability models, ca n be used as a management support tool. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Limi ted.
