The advances in detection techniques for ion chromatography that have
been achieved within the last five years are reviewed, with spacial at
tention to conductivity, amperometric and potentiometric detection, po
st-column reaction detection including UV-Vis absorbance, fluorescence
and luminescence measurements, atomic spectroscopic detection and com
bination with mass spectrometry. Typical applications for each detecti
