CAPILLARY ELECTROPHORESIS OF INORGANIC ANIONS AND ITS COMPARISON WITHION CHROMATOGRAPHY

Determination of inorganic anions by capillary electrophoresis is crit ically compared with ion chromatographic determinations on the basis o f recent literature in the field. After a very brief summary of the th eoretical background, the selection and optimization of the running el ectrolyte system are discussed, especially in connection with modifica tion of the electroosmotic flow. Preconcentration techniques are surve yed, as are the approaches to the sample introduction and analyte dete ction. The principal analytical parameters of the determinations are e valuated and illustrated on selected applications described in the lit erature. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
