The hydroisomerization of n-hexane has been investigated at atmospheri
c pressure in the temperature range 523-623 K over Pt-H-ETS-10 contain
ing different amounts of Pt. The influence of Pt content and reaction
parameters on the isomerization efficiency is reported. The optimum Pt
content for the reaction was found to be around 0.3% Pt. The moderate
acidity of the molecular sieve (H-form) results in high selectivities
for isomerization. The studies suggest that n-hexane transformation o
ver Pt-H-ETS-10 proceeds through a bifunctional route.
