Abstract
As part of a detailed survey on the contamination of Polish forests Sr -90 activity concentrations were determined in bilberries. Elevated Sr -90 levels were found in several samples from north-eastern Poland. Th e calculated maximum Sr-90 surface contamination was 2 kBq . m(-2). Th e correlation between Sr-90 and Cs-137 concentrations in bilberries wa s good for two sets of samples originating from two geographical areas of Poland indicating the local differences in radionuclide deposition s from Chernobyl fallout.
