Abstract
The historical development of the in situ preconcentration technique i n atomic absorption spectrometry based on a conventional flame coupled with an atom trapping tube and collection of the analyte atoms is pre sented. The current state of the art, including advantages and limitat ions of this approach, is discussed. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
