T. Wiik et Ewm. Hansen, THE ASSESSMENT OF WIND LOADS ON ROOF OVERHANG OF LOW-RISE BUILDINGS, Journal of wind engineering and industrial aerodynamics, 67-8, 1997, pp. 687-696
Numerical simulations are compared with experimental mean values of ch
aracteristic pressure (C-p) values on a gable wall and on a roof overh
ang of a low-rise building. The inclined wind direction investigated i
s normal to the gable wall. Two-model designs with an overhang of 0.3
and 3.4 m are examined. The main issue in this paper is to investigate
what influence a large roof overhang has on the C-p-values on the hou
se, compared to an ordinary roof. Also from the engineering point of v
iew, it is interesting to see how well a commercial CFD-code, with a b
asic turbulence model, can predict the C-p-values for a house. The num
erical simulations are performed with a k-epsilon turbulence model.
