Abstract
A novel technology has been used to prepare Al/Al2O3 particle composit es. Alumina reinforcing phase is the product of a gas-liquid chemical reaction caused by the injection of oxygen into molten aluminum. The r apid in situ reaction productes a fine refractory dispersion in the al uminum matrix. The microstructure of in-situ alumina particle reinforc ed aluminum composites has been observed.
