Sh. Kienle et al., RECONSTRUCTING QUANTUM STATES VIA QUANTUM TOMOGRAPHY AND ATOM INTERFEROMETRY, Applied physics. B, Lasers and optics, 65(6), 1997, pp. 735-743
We discuss quantum tomography and atom interferometry for the reconstr
uction of a quantum state describing the transverse motion of an atomi
c beam. Both methods are based on a dispersive interaction between a c
lassical electromagnetic field and the atoms. However, the specific te
chniques applied to analyze the measured atomic position distributions
are fundamentally different for both methods.
