H. Kaplan et al., REPORT OF 8 CASES OF HUMERAL FRACTURE FOLLOWING THE THROWING OF HAND GRENADES, Archives of orthopaedic and trauma surgery, 117(1-2), 1998, pp. 50-52
A series of eight cases is presented in which similar fractures of the
shaft of the humerus occurred during the throwing of hand grenades. T
ransient paresis of the radial nerve accompanied the fracture in one p
atient. In seven patients, the fracture healed without complication. L
n the remaining case, non-union developed, and surgical treatment was
instituted. The mechanism of the fracture is discussed with reference
to the literature.
