Abstract
Four novel 3 alpha-hydroxy-oleanane type triterpene oligoglycosyl este rs, spinoside C2, C3, C6 and C7, were isolated from the leaves of Acan thopanax spinosus. The structures were established to be 28-O-alpha-L- rhamnopyranosyl(1 --> 4)-beta-D-glucopyranosyl(1 --> 6)-beta-D-glucopy ranosyl esters of 3 alpha, 30-dihydroxy-23-oxo-olean-12-en-28-oic acid , 3 alpha, 20 alpha-dihydroxy-30-nor-olean-12-en-28-oic acid, 3 alpha, 20 alpha-dihydroxy-23-oxo-30-nor-olean-12-en-28-oic acid and 3 alpha, 20 alpha, 23-trihydroxy-30-nor-olean-12-en-28-oic acid.
