Abstract
Two new acetogenins, ellipsoidones A and B, were isolated from the tub ers of Hemsleya ellipsoidea along with five known cucurbitacins, isocu curbitacin B, 23, 24-dihydroisocucurbitacin B, cucurbitacin F, 25-O-ac etylcucurbitacin F, 25-O-acetyl-23,24-dihydrocucurbitacin F, and two k nown compounds, siphonodin, (E)-2-methyl-2-butene-1,4-diol. The struct ures of the two new acetogenins were determined on the basis of the sp ectroscopic and photo-chemical evidence. (C) 1997 Published by Elsevie r Science Ltd.
