Daily dietary iron intake for adults in Belgium has been re-evaluated
by duplicate portion sampling, the heating of samples in a microwave o
ven absorption spectrometric determination The mean intake value for a
dults (11.3+/-4.4 mg/day) is similar to levels found for most other co
untries. i.e. above the recommended daily allowance of 10 mg/day for a
dult men, but below the value for adult women, i.e. 15 mg/day.
