Abstract
Predetonation conductivity and luminescence have been observed when th e decomposition of silver azide whiskers was initiated by a laser puls e. Conductivity kinetics and luminescence spectra have been investigat ed. Experimental results show that the explosion occurs by a chain mec hanism and a model of elementary steps of the chain reaction is propos ed within the framework of band model.
