Abstract
We compared whole blood dried on filter paper to the standard assay,vi th frozen cell free plasma for use in the quantitation of the human im munodeficiency virus RNA load in blood. RNA values from filter paper, corrected for the hematocrit, gave results comparable to those of the standard assay in terms of sensitivity and reproducibility.
