H. Kubota et al., SUCCESSFUL TREATMENT OF TETRALOGY OF FALLOT WITH PULMONARY ATRESIA USING A PULMONARY HOMOGRAFT, Japanese Heart Journal, 38(6), 1997, pp. 869-875
A 13-year-old boy with tetralogy of Fallot and pulmonary atresia after
a Waterston and Blalock-Taussig shunt underwent successful repair usi
ng a cryopreserved pulmonary homograft as a valved extracardiac condui
t. Aortic transection gave a good operative field for pulmonary angiop
lasty and closure of the Waterston anastomosis. The cryopreserved pulm
onary homograft provided excellent handling characteristics. The posto
perative course was good, and postoperative echocardiography showed go
od function of the valved conduit.
