The obtaining procedure for the urea-polyethylene inclusion compound,
by substituting the n-alkane in inclusion compound urea-n-heptadecane,
previously formed, with polyethylene dissolved in xylene at 120 degre
es C, is reported. The reaction mechanism is discussed and the obtaine
d inclusion compound is characterized by differential scanning calorim
etry (DSC), IR spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction.
