Abstract
A summary of the various contributions to the Lamb shift of 1S(1/2), 2 S(1/2), and 2P(1/2) states in hydrogen-like Au-197(79), Pb-208(82), Th -232(90), and U-238(92) is given. Uncertainties due to uncalculated tw o-photon self-energy diagrams and insufficiently known nuclear paramet ers are estimated. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
