Abstract
We demonstrate a new method of light amplification based on forward fo ur-wave mixing in photorefractive BaTiO3. A single pump beam of combin ed (ordinary and extraordinary) polarization can be used for an effici ent cw amplification of a signal wave with slightly shifted temporal f requency. initial power of less than 1 nW is amplified similar to 100 times in a 3.2-mm-thick sample.
