J. Pages, NEW DATA ON SOME DIPLURA RHABDURA (INSECT A, APTERYGOTA) N-DEGREES 1 - DIPLURA GENAVENSIA XXII, Revue Suisse de Zoologie, 104(4), 1997, pp. 869-896
The main characteristics of Rhabdura Cook, 1896 (sensu PAGES 1958) are
briefly exposed. The paper deals with several species of Procampodeid
ae and Anajapygidae. Procampodea brevicauda Silv. (from Algeria) is co
mpared with P. macswaini Conde & Pages; new data are given on the chae
totaxy of vertex, thorax and abdomen, the trichobothria of the antenna
e and the labial palpi. The description of Anajapyx vesiculosus Silv.,
1905 is completed based on the study of 44 specimens from Morocco. An
ajapyx carli n. sp. is described from South India (Anaimalais Hills).
III both species bundles of spermatozoans have been observed in the sp
ermiducts of males. SILVESTRI's var. guineensis is considered a good s
pecies: Anajapyx guineensis Silv., stat. n.. Anajapyx menkei Smith and
A. amabilis Smith are believed to be mere postembryonic instars of th
e same species which may be A. mexicanus Silv., but a revision of the
types is necessary to confirm this synonymy. Paranajapyx n. gen. is pr
oposed for A. hermosus Smith whose antennae, mandibles and lacinia dif
fer clearly from those of Anajapyx Silv.: Paranajapyx hermosus (Smith)
, n. comb.. Lectotypes are designated for Japyx insuetus Pgs, Metajapy
x phitosi Pgs, Parindjapyx aelleni Pgs and Parajapyx (P.) genavensium
Pgs. The original description of Unjapyx mussardi Pgs is corrected.
