To get a survey over the aflatoxin M-1 (AFM(1)) concentration in raw m
ilk on farm level and bulk milk at dairies, a total of 187 milk sample
s was collected during 1993/94 and analyzed for AFM(1) using an ELISA
technique. On farm level an average of 20% of the samples was positive
(>3 ng/kg) with concentrations between 3,6 and 10,6 ng/kg milk. From
the 157 bulk milk samples 37 (23,6%) were positive. Twentyfive samples
were beyond 10 ng/kg and 12 samples between 10 and 50 ng/kg. None of
the milks exceeded the EU tolerance of 50 ng aflatoxin M-1/kg.
