Abstract
The magnetic properties and the specific heat of sulfur nonstochiometr ic CuIr2S4+x (x = -0.1, 0.0, and 0.1) were investigated. The transitio n temperatures on cooling (T-cool) were 209.6, 206.7, and 218 K, where as on warming (T-warm) they were 218, 218.3, and 226.7 K, respectively , The change in entropy at the transition temperatures (T-warm) of the x 0.1 and x = 0.0 samples were 0.90 and 0.54 J/mol K, respectively, ( C) 1997 American Institute of Physics.
