Abstract
A new high-intensity Ir-192 source has recently become commercially av ailable for remote afterloading brachytherapy treatment. The dosimetri c characteristics (dose rate constant, radial dose function, and aniso tropy function) of this source were experimentally determined through the application of AAPM Task Group 43 recommendations. Complete dosime tric data are presented in this manuscript. (C) 1997 American Associat ion of Physicists in Medicine.
