Numbers of Orius insidiosus (Say) collected in Kentucky soybean peaked
in mid to late July, while numbers of Nabis roseipennis Reuter peaked
after those of O. insidiosus. Nonetheless, there was an overlap in th
e seasonal occurrence of these species, and some instars of the specie
s occurred at similar heights within the soybean canopy. However occur
rence on specific plant parts was different for these predators. O. in
sidiosus individuals were more commonly found on flowers and pods, whe
reas N. roseipennis has been reported to occur mostly on leaves. No di
rect interactions were observed between the two species.
