Abstract
A spectrum-resolved numerical model for the gain clamped EDFA is devel oped, Good agreement between the model and experimental results is ach ieved, The model results reveal the pain, clamped gain spectral distri bution and noise-figure characteristic, of the amplifier, The model is used to optimize the selection of the clamped amplifier laser wavelen gth and laser output coupling to minimize tile noise figure.
