Kn. Barish, SEARCH FOR STRANGE QUARK MATTER WITH THE BNL-E864 SPECTROMETER, Journal of physics. G, Nuclear and particle physics, 23(12), 1997, pp. 2127-2134
The results of the charged strange quark matter search from central 11
.6 A GeV/c Au+Pb collisions in experiment E864 at the BNL-AGS are pres
ented. We have analysed the approximately 6 billion central interactio
ns sampled during the 1995 run for positively and negatively charged s
trangelet candidates. The results of the 1995 analysis, in which our f
ull calorimeter and high-mass trigger system were used, are nearly thr
ee orders of magnitude more sensitive than our 1994 results, and are t
he best and most model independent sensitivities at AGS energies.
