Abstract
Pollen of Ailanthus excelsa in the atmosphere of Burdwan during Nov. 1 992 to Oct. 1994, constituted 2.16% of the total airflora. Quantitativ e estimation of proteins, free amino acids, carbohydrates, lipids, nuc leic acids and minerals and qualitative analysis of the free amino aci ds were done. SDS-PAGE with crude pollen extract gave protein profile. Skin tests with pollen antigen showed 47.3% positive response.
