Electron and phonon calculations are presented for the ternary CaTaN2
of trigonal alpha-NaFeO2-structure. Both density functional theory and
the empirical tight-binding method are employed to yield a realistic
description of electronic and vibrational properties, and also reasona
ble estimates of the electron-phonon coupling. Finally possible ways t
o enhance T-C are discussed.
