Abstract
Adalinine (2), a minor alkaloid of the coccinellid Adalia bipunctata, has been synthesized in racemic form in five steps starting from cyclo pentanone. Direct comparison of the synthetic sample with the natural compound confirms unambiguously the structure we previously proposed s olely on the basis of spectral data.
