Abstract
Plasma levels of retinol, ascorbic acid and alpha-tocopherol in malari a infection were determined. The plasma concentrations of retinol, asc orbic acid and alpha-tocopherol were significantly depressed in malari a (P < 0.01). The depletion in the levels of these anti-infective and antioxidant vitamins in the plasma of malaria patients may account for some of the observed manifestations of malaria infection.
