Hw. Tang et al., SCREENING OF ANTICANCER DRUGS BY ACRIDINE ORANGE-CELLULAR DNA FLUORESCENCE INHIBITION, Gaodeng xuexiao huaxue xuebao, 18(12), 1997, pp. 1960-1962
A new method for preliminary screening of anticancer drugs by Hadamard
transform microscopic fluorescence image analysis was proposed. Rat l
iver 2c hepatocyte was used as the standard cell and acridine orange (
AO) was employed to trace the interaction of drug and cellular DNA. Th
e results for five anticancer drugs, vincristine, cyclophosphamide, mu
stine, cis-platin and mitomycin-C are in accordance with the mechanism
of the drugs binding to cellular DNA and this indicates that this met
hod is suitable far screening cell cycle nonspecific anticancer drugs.
