The title compound was synthesized and analysed by X-ray diffraction.
The difference of ortho-substituents resulted in the great difference
in conformation and their herbicidal activity. Compared with the cryst
al structures of herbicidal sulfonurea, the same structure-activity re
lationship as that of sulfonurea can be found in sulfonamides, which i
ndicated that this two kinds of herbicides might have the same binding
site on ALS.
