J. Jin et al., THE EFFECT OF DIFFERENT RATIO OF CARBOXYL IC GROUP TO HYDROCARBON CHAIN TO CHARACTERIZATION OF POLYMALEIC ACID OCTADECANOL ESTER LB FILMS, Gaodeng xuexiao huaxue xuebao, 18(12), 1997, pp. 2015-2018
A kind of amphiphilic oligomer-polymaleic acid octadecanol ester (PMA)
with different ratios of carboxylic group to hydrocarbon chain was sy
nthesized with polymaleic anhydride and octadecanol. Then as spread ma
terials, a series of CdPMA LB films were prepared on the subphase cont
aining CdCl2. With FTIR and small angle X-ray diffraction, the effects
of different ratios of carboxylic group to hydrocarbon chain and expe
rimental conditions on the ordered structure of CdPMA LB films were ch
aracterized. We concluded that, in the case of high constant surface p
ressure (30 mN/m) and high dipping speed (10 cm/min), the CDPMA with a
lower ratio of carboxylic group to hydrocarbon chain could give a hig
h ordered pure Y-type LB films, while the CdPMA with a high ratio coul
d not.
