Sv. Koval et al., INVESTIGATION OF THE MECHANISM OF ELECTRIC EXPLOSION OF CONDUCTORS AND OF THE THERMAL-CHARACTERISTICS OF LIQUID-METALS, High temperature, 35(6), 1997, pp. 863-866
The optical methods are described for measuring the temperature and th
e radius of an expanding cylindrical wire to which a current pulse of
density j similar to 10(11) A/m(2) is applied. The temperature depende
nces of density, specific heat, and electrical conductivity of liquid
tungsten are obtained, and the temperature coefficients of expansion a
nd electrical conductivity are determined. The data obtained are compa
red with other known data.
