The functional definition of direct correlation functions (DCF) of a m
ixture is used to derive the expression which relates DCF to the radia
l distribution functions (RDF). Based on the formula expressing this r
elation, the virial and fluctuation theorems are used to derive the eq
uation of state for multicomponent systems, which is valid at high pre
ssures and temperatures The relation between the derived equation of s
tate and parameters of intermolecular interactions is analyzed, and th
e conditions are investigated under which this equation coincides with
Tait's empirical equation of state generalized to the case of multico
mponent systems.
