Abstract
A simplified model is treated of the dynamics of large-scale radiating fireballs formed as a result of rocket explosion at the launching sit e or in flight. The model is intended for use in estimating the densit y of integral radiative heat fluxes at small distances from the explos ion site with a view to developing systems of emergency rescue of cosm onauts and means of thermal protection of launching pads. Results are given of calculations of radiation of oxygen-hydrogen and oxygen-keros ene fireballs. The calculation results are compared with experimental data.
