N. Cappi et J. Nozaki, POLAROGRAPHIC-DETERMINATION ON MOLYBDENUM IN ROCKS AFTER SEPARATION WITH PAPER-ELECTROPHORESIS, Arquivos de biologia e tecnologia, 39(4), 1996, pp. 849-853
A granitic rock of Figueiras, Parana Brazil is an important source of
uranium and molybdenum The determination of molybdenum was performed b
y differential pulse polarography in acidic nitrate media The previous
separation of interfering substances like iron, silicon, aluminum cal
cium, barium, sodium lead and uranium was carried out in two steps. Th
e first step was the precipitation of lead molybdenum, arsenic, cadmiu
m, and palladium as sulfides. in the second step, paper electrophoresi
s was used for molybdenum separation. The average Mo concentration fou
nd was 0.48 % (w/w) and the results were in agreement with the spectro
photometric method using alizarin-complexone as complexing reagent.
