REPLICA-SYMMETRICAL APPROACH TO A HIDDEN-LAYER FEATURE DETECTOR

We take further the study of a learning-generalization process in a hi dden-layer network for a given three-bit feature distinction by applic ation of the replica method. When doing so, we are led to an Ising mod el with both external and random fields which cause considerable diffi culties. Several approximations for this system are discussed.
