GUNSHOT WOUNDS OF THE FOREARM

The management of gunshot wounds of the forearm has been Ib ell docume nted in the literature. Penetrating projectile injuries of the forearm present treatment problems which are not commonly encountered with bl unt injuries, such as neurovascular injury and compartment syndrome. W hile the management of these injuries is similar to other gunshot woun ds of the Limbs, the proximity and arrangement of the anatomical struc tures of the forearm lead to injuries and, therefore, treatment consid erations which are unique. The following is a review of the treatment of gunshot wounds of the forearm.
