Vitreous AgPO3 is of technological interest as a host for solid-state
electrolytes, whereas its crystalline counterpart is a good model syst
em for structural and transport modelling. In this paper we present P-
31 NMR-MAS evidence of two crystallographically non-equivalent phospho
rous atoms in AgPO3 crystal. Both glass and crystal are made of long c
hains of PO4 tetrahedra connected by comers. The glass structure is ch
aracterized by a wide distribution of bond lengths and angles. (C) 199
