Abstract
Schemes for increasing the input power dynamic range of interferometri c wavelength converters are presented with experiments at 10 Gb/s show ing large improvements, A simple conversion scheme that uses current c ontrol of the interferometer improves the dynamic range from similar t o 3-similar to 8 dB, A simpler method of inserting an EDFA before the converter results in more than 40 dB of dynamic range while a method o f using a SOA for power control gives similar to 28-dB dynamic range.
