Abstract
The definition of a fuzzy reflexive relation lambda on a set S is gene ralized by demanding that lambda,(x, y) less than or equal to lambda(z , z) > 0 for all x not equal y, z is an element of S. FUZZY equivalenc e relations on a given set and fuzzy congruences on a given groupoid a re studied under this generalized setting. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B .V.
