Representation of the transformation kernel in the Smoluchowski equati
on describing agglomeration of powder particles as a Taylor series exp
ansion is considered. By solving the problem of a totally inelastic co
llision of particles, the range of permissible values of expansion coe
fficients is determined together with the type of the second-order sur
face, representing geometrically the probability of result-producing i
nteraction between particles of various weight in the course of agglom
eration in fluidized-bed apparatus.
